OLLF has continued to enhance the branch with the money we raise - this past year, re-doing the employees break room, under the guidance of our resident designer, Director Frank M Stich of Marshall Design Group. Also funding the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program, a special resource area.

Your own copy is waiting at Oak Lawn Library, for a modest contribution of $5.00. Mail orders are accepted with an additional $2.50 for shipping and handling. Mail your check to:

We prefer to think of it as "recycling" books into the community. Books and media that are contributed to Oak Lawn Library Friends (OLLF) go through a multi-part screening. Our library staff examines the gifts for suitability to be used in the library's collection. Second, the staff considers if another branch could use the gift. Third, the books are put into recycling, and offered for sale in the reading room.

Every penny paid goes directly to fund more books and media for the branch.

Director Fran Burke and Senior Customer Service Representative Brittanie Heathington work together to keep a good selection with several dozen books available at all times. Currently, they are featuring a mini-book sale which has two to three times the number of books out for browsing.

Prices are so reasonable that Half Price Books shops here. Virtually no books are over $4, with the majority under $2, and are available for browsing during regular library hours (see Our Branch for hours).
